Cracking my apartment’s key fob and download it to my phone

I recently moved to a new apartment, which is 30-minutes drive away from my lab. The new apartment advertises they're using "high technology" everywhere, including the door. Well, as a security researcher myself, I'd love to see how "high" their technology really is and how secure it is.

I'll start with my apartment's key fob. This key fob is used to open every door in my apartment complex, including the lobby, the garage, the gym, the pool, and my own door. Some of these doors are "public" accessible (everyone in the apartment can enter). And one door is private for my roommate and me only, which is our apartment's front door.
